The mission of the Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association (MaPaca) is to provide education, guidance, support, and resources to help new and existing alpaca owners, breeders, and alpaca-related businesses to establish or grow their businesses and become successful in the alpaca industry. They do this through the publishing of a quarterly newsletter and quarterly meetings. MAPACA's major event, the MAPACA Jubilee, is open to the public and held annually in the Mid-Atlantic region. It features free lectures, demonstrations, shows for alpacas and their fleeces, breeder exhibits and vendors with a festival format. Paso Ligero is a proud member of MAPACA, and Kim is currently (2009-2011) serving on the association's board of directors.
