Well, Trike and Lilly will soon be lonely for their five other brothers and sisters. All of the Great Pyrenees pups from my female's first litter are gone or going to new homes, and I want to thank each and every new owner and congratulate them on adding one (or two in some cases) of these awesome dogs to their family.
Trike and Lilly are a male and female who are staying on at Paso Ligero to add to our animal family, making a total of four Great Pyrenees at work here. And the other five are going to other farms to work as guardians of apacas or goats and to homes to be simply beloved and (may I happily say) spoiled pets. Three are staying close within the state of PA, and two are going as far as New Hampshire.
In fact, the two who went to New Hampshire are Ranger and Enya, the only two that had badger markings out of the whle litter and who were best buddies almost from the start. These two went to be livestock guardians at Shailey Hill Farm where they will guard mostly Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. We met Cami and Lisa halfway in New York on July 31st to deliver the pups, who were both about 50 pounds by then. Notes from Cami tell me that the pups are doing great adjusting to their new home and learning their way around the goats. Please check out Cami and Lisa's farm website if you are interested in these adorable and useful goats at www.shaileyhillfarm.com.
If you have been thinking about getting livestock guardians for your herd (be it alpacas, goats, sheep or other animals in need of a little help to protect themselves), I'd be happy to consult with you and help you find the best solution for your situation. Plans have not yet been made for another litter here, but if I get enough interest, we'll get another one on the way as soon as Pooka has had ample rest from her first litter. So please call or email if you are interested and make an appointment to stop by Paso Ligero and see how these great, great dogs do their work.
Happy puppy training to all of my new puppy owners! And be prepared to be amazed!

This is Pooka, our female, who is now 3 1/2 years old.
