Paso Ligero’s Sequoia is simply a fine example of a suri, and was judged so by Jude Anderson at the 2008 MAPACA Jubilee, receiving a first place as a 7-month-old. At 13 months, Sequoia took first at the MABA Alpaca Celebration and Reserve Color Champion and then took Reserve Color Champion at PAOBA's 2009 Breeder's Showcase from the second row. Her extremely dense fleece radiates luster with beautiful individualized locks and a very typey suri head. Though her dam and sire are both white, her grandsire’s (Meadowgate’s Eminance Grise) color genetics showed through with her rich medium fawn body and white face. To top off the package, Sequoia’s personality is as calm and sweet as they come. She’s a joy to show and handle.
UPDATE: We got word October 2009 that Sequoia's breeding to Sierra Bonita's Peruvian Sniper - a record 19-time champion true black suri male! - was confirmed by ultrasound! She's due for a late-summer cria in 2010.
Sequoia is doing well through her pregnancy, and we are very excited to see the results of this breeding. We think you will be also. So call to make an appointment today to visit the farm and see her firsthand.
